Working:

Worm gears are capable of reducing the rotation speed of the motor to achieve a higher torque. It is not a reversible gear. The motion takes place only in one direction. Worm gears contain teeth that complement the shafts present on the wheel. As the gear rotates the shafts also moves by one tooth. The speed is reduced proportionally to the number of teeth a gear has. For example for a 10 teeth gear the speed will be reduced by the factor of 10. The rotation axis has a 90 degree angle.
