The safe loading of trucks is important in preventing injury to people and in preventing damage to property. The loading and unloading of trucks has caused thousands of injuries across the world and to prevent those there are some general guide-lines:

General Operation

• The driver must stay out of harm's way at all times while loading/unloading is taking place

• Traffic movements should be understood and complied with

• Suitable access must be provided to tray of trucks. (Steps, grab handles etc.)

• The tray should be clear of all loose objects

• Ensure the forklift driver has a clear view of truck driver at all times
