These are snap actions type bimetal thermostats used in automobiles. These switches are normally open and actuate the radiator fan only when a desired temperature has been attained by the cooling fluid. Again when the coolant reaches the lower temperature they stops the radiator fan. They help in running the automotive engine in the optimal desired temperature range, it avoids the cold running of engine as well overheating of the engine. These are produced in brass construction with various threads for mounting and varying configuration of connectors and varying temperature range.
