Used for trimming of various diameter specimen for unconfined and triaxial testings in routine research and educational laboratories. Hand operated and motorized models are available as under:
MTS -153 Soil Trimmer (Hand Operated)
The soil sample is mounted on the lower specimen grip and the upper grip adjustable for different heights is firmly seated on top of the specimen. The gripper plates are provided with pins to have a firm grip on the specimen. An adjustable vertical guide controls the depth of cut. Supplied complete with a wire saw, trimming knife, pair of gripper plates for 38mm, 50mm, 75mm and 100mm dia specimens.
MTS -154 Soil Trimmer (Motorised)
It consists of a base with a knife support. The platform supporting the specimen ring, rotates slowly, driven by a fractional HP. motor with reduction gear box inside the base. The hardened steel trimmer knife is mounted on a support and is adjustable both horizontally and vertically for exact trimming. A vertical guide controls the depth of cut.
Complete with 38mm, 50mm, 75mm and 100mm dia specimen rings. Suitable for operation on 230V, 50 Hz, single phase. A.C. Supply.
