FVITTM Tabs and Syrup FVIT contains sodium feredetate which is a new generation haematinic and is a chelate form of iron. FVIT does not dissociate in the stomach and thus there is minimal gastric disturbances whether it is Diarrohoea, Constipation, Nausea or Vomiting which is very commonly associated with any conventional iron. The relative bio availabity of FVIT is 2.5 to 10 times of ferrous sulphate and carbonyl iron respectively and therefore FVIT produces faster rise in hemoglobin as compared to conventional iron and carbonyl iron. The absorption is unaffected by phytates and oxalates. FVIT is available as Tabs and solution. FVIT t provides 231 mg of sodium feredetate equivalent to 33mg of elemental iron, 1.5 mg of foc acid and 15 mcg of vitamin B12. Each 5 ml of FVIT solution contains 231 mg of sodium feredetate equivalent to 33 mg of elemental iron and is available in a decious lemon orange flavor.
