A single-phase air compressor - the horizontal series works by using the force of a piston and a pressure sensitive valve. It is designed to house a cylinder that compresses air with a single piston stroke. This cylinder is connected to a supply which provides the force necessary to compress the air. It is different from the dual and multi-stage air compressors because it works with a single cylinder and a valve.
