ROM stands for Run of mine coal. It is a coal comprising of all sizes which comes out of the mine without any crushing or screening. The coal delivered from the mine that reports to the coal preparation plant is called Run of Mine or ROM. This is the raw material for the CPP and consist of coal, rocks, middlings, minerals and contamination. ROM coal can have a large variability of moisture and maximum particle size.
