Expansion joints made of conventional materials such as graphite, phenolic, resin-impregnated asbestos, polyesters and ceramics, stoneware, glass-lined steel and pyrex, hold up well in highly corrosive environments as long as mating surfaces are maintained and serious vibrational problems are not present. The possibility of nozzle or flange failure increases sharply when vibration is a problem or when these materials are subjected to significant tense stresses.
Expansion joints made of or lined with-PTFE permit the transfer of the most corrosive chemicals even when high operating temperatures, pressures and flow rates add to the corrosive action.
Engaged in manufacture and supply of moulded and precision machined products from pure and filled ptfe.
