Antibacterials O PLUS O - Ofloxacin and Ornidazole Composition Each t contains Ofloxacin 200 mg and Ornidazole IP 500 mg Description Ofloxacin is a synthetic oadspectrum antibacterial agent belonging to the fluoroquinolone group. The mechanism of action of Ofloxacin involves inhibition of bacterial topoisomerase IV and DNA gyrase (both of which are type II topoisomerases), enzymes required for DNA repcation, transcription, repair and recombination. Ornidazole is a nitroimidazole which has antimicrobial action against microaerophic protozoa Giardia lamba, Entamoeba histolytica and Trichomonas vaginas and against obgate anaerobic bacteria. Indications Treatment of diarrhoea and dysentery of amoebic, bacterial or mixed origins.
