The relay measures the line current of each of the line CTs, and if the current exceeds the set threshold, the relay extends a trip signal after a runtime. The "run time" of the relay is determined by selecting "defined time" or one of the six "reverse time" characteristics. Input to ground-sensitive grounding protection can be derived in two ways:
1) Residual current derived from three-phase current transformers can be used as input. The output of the core balance current transformer (CBCT) having appropriate characteristics can be used as input.
2) The input to the high impedance restricted earth fault protection will be derived from the neutral CT output with an external stabilizing resistor.
The earth fault / sensitive earth fault / restricted ground fault functions can be enabled or disabled independently. Inhibition of any protection is not possible.
