Neurodoscopy is a minimally invasive technique that is effectively used especially for the diagnosis and therapy of intracranial defects. With endoscopes of differing viewing angles of 0°, 30°, 70° an 120°, neurosurgeons can also see into the brain to an extent that was not previously possible and required extensive surgery.
Some of the areas I hold expertise in include:
Occlusive hydrocephalus (ventriculostomy)
Intraventricular processes (e.g. tumors and cysts)
Arachnoidal cysts and cystic cerebral tumors
Intraventricular hemorrhages and other intraventricular interventions
Endoscopically assisted neurosurgery (base of the skull)
Transnasal transsphenoidal pituitary gland surgery
Working presently in the capacity of Chief Consultant Neurosurgeon, Apollo Hospitals, Ahmedabad, I, Dr. Somesh Desai, am trained and worked in best of the centres for neurosurgery in India and abroad.
