This classically styled anchor lamp is hand constructed from fine solid copper and brass, and then polished to a glorious shine. This anchor lamp also features a glass-encased oil lamp which is fully functional using standard lamp oil. Traditionally, all ships anchored in port were required to display one or two “anchor lamps” to alert other vessels to the fact that the ship was securely anchored in port. Furthermore, the lamps had to emit light in all directions, so that it could be seen from a distance of up to two miles in normal conditions.

This brass and copper anchor lantern comes with a sturdy handle which allows the user to hang it from a hook, rope, or tree, or it can be used as a tabletop lighting source in an outdoor setting. Measuring 15” in height including the handle.
