Also known by botanical name Illicium verum, Natural Anethole 99 offered is colorless to pale yellow colored liquid that has ansie like odor with slight solubility in water and good solubility in alcohol. It finds extensive use in areas like Alcoholic drinks, Seasoning and Confectionery usage as well as in Oral Hygiene applications and has its origins in India. With properties of Specific Gravity of 0.980 -0.985, Optical Rotation of (-1) - (-9), Refractive Index of 1.555-1.560, it is extracted using steam distillation process from Basil, which is a sacred plant in India and finds usage in Ayurvedic medicines. The extract is also used as strewing herb for reducing odors as well as in culinary applications.
