We offer our clients with a quality assortment of industrial power cables. Our range is manufactured using quality raw material and are PVC coated. Available in different sizes, width, length and colors and are fabricated as per the set industry standards. The standard benchmark for selecting these industrial power cables is as follows:
System Voltage | The type of system voltage should be taken into account. There are four types including single phased, three phased, earthed, unearthed and DC. |
Current Carrying Capacity | The current rating is the essential criterion. There are different carrying capacity of varied type and size of cables, under different laying conditions. Current capacity should be considered before the choosing the correct size and type of cables. Suitable derating or uprating factor should be used depending on the conditions of laying that are as follows: |
Depth of laying | |
Ambient temperature of ground or Air
Soil resistivity | |
Whether one or more groups of cables are laid together
Any heating source near cable run
Mode of Installation | The cable to be used is determined by the mode of installation. For the purpose of underground applications, electricity regulators require efficient armored cables. These cables are recommended where there is any chance of mechanical damage. If in case the subsequent mechanical damage after laying cables is not likely, we can even use cheaper unarmored cables. |
Permissible Voltage Drop | For longer length of cable run it is requisite to check that the cable size selected for voltage drop does not exceed the prescribed regulations limit. A higher size cable may be required if the voltage drop limit is exceeded. |
Load Characteristics | It is vital to ensure that the cable selected is suitable for handling temporary overloads. “AVOCAB" cables allow a conductor temperature of up to 130°C under temporary overload conditions. Further, it may be possible that the complete load cycle gets completed. |
Short Circuit Rating | Short circuit rating depend on the expected level and duration of the short circuit. In few cases, a larger size of cable may be required for normal full load current. The cables with high KVA capacity are expected to carry short circuit current of high magnitude. “AVOCAB" cables permit a short circuit temperature of 160°C. |
Economic Considerations | While selecting the cable, one must consider the most economical construction and size that is persistent with current carrying capacity and laying conditions. A detailed study of 3 or 4 approximate sizes is made. Actual running costs is calculated taking into account |2R loss, interest and depreciation of the total cost. The preferred choice should be the one that gives minimum running costs. |
