The primary and secondary winding of potential transformer is magnetically coupled by a core. PT is used to step down the system voltage(3.3, 6.6, 11KV) measurable up to 110/rt3, 110 V. The class of accuracy of metering PT is 0.2, 0.5, 1.0 and of protection PT is 3P.
