Hand Made Shellac

Our offered range also includes hand made shellac. These seedlac can be converted into shellac through any process i.e. either by traditional hand made process or modern machine made process. The hand made shellac is produced by blending seedlac into a long narrow cloth bag and heating. One end is over a charcoal fire and the other end is attached to a windlass. It is gradually twisted. The charcoal fire produces heat and the charcoal melts in lac which is forced out through the cloth at a great pressure. The molten lac is scraped out and drawn into sheets manually and left to dry. Considerable manual skills and long experience is required for this process.
