These Carbon pads & Carbon bearings are used in submersible pump motors and plays a very vital role in the fuctioning of a pump. They are used in submersible pumps for lifting water from deep water bore wells. Pump parts in carbon material with higher hardness will enhance abrasion resistance.

The properties of Carbon pads are as under.

Dry running properties.
Good thermal conductivity.
