61 letters written by M.H. Nazar in Durban, South Africa, between September 1902 and June 1903 are compiled in this volume. In these letters, more than half addressed to Gandhi, Nazar, first editor of Indian Opinion, a weekly newspaper founded by Gandhi, reveals in detail the extent of problems created by the heightened level of discriminatory legislation and administrative action under British rule.
