MycoVAM contains vesicular arbuscular mycorrhizae (VAM). VAMs are entophytic symbiotic fungi of the soil, which colonize the roots of about 80% of plants. VAM mushrooms produce hyphae, which are microscopic tubes that colonize the roots of crops and grow in the soil further than the root hairs. The nutrients are taken up by the hyphae and transported to the plants. This results in very efficient mobilization and absorption of fertilizers and other nutrients by plants. VAM hyphae also help retain moisture around the root zone of plants.
Uses of VAM :
Improves uptake of phosphorus and micronutrients, disease and pest resistance to plants, nitrogen fixation and pH balancing. Improves conditioning of soil and Imparts greater drought tolerance to plants.
