Rating and Standards
Electric Supply:
Three Phase motors are suitable for 415V ± 10%, 3 Phase, 50 Hz ± 5% supply. For combination of voltage and frequency maximum variation of 10% is allowed.
Single Phase motors are suitable for 220V ± 10%, 50Hz ± 5% supply. For combination of voltage and Frequency maximum variation of 10% is allowed.
Motor of variable voltage and dual voltages can be supplied on specific order / request.
Enclosure:
The standard protection is IP 54/IP 55.
Insulation:
All motors are of Class ‘F’ insulation with temperature rise restricted to Class ‘B’ limits, ensuring reliability and long life.
Duty Rating:
All motors are continuously maximum rated type S1 as per DIN EN 60034-1 at 50Hz, 40ºC and 1000 m. Motors of other duty conditions (S2, S3 etc) can be offered on request.
Ambient:
Standard Motors are designed to operate in an ambient temperature of -20ºC (-4ºF) to 45ºC (113ºF).
Altitude:
Standard motors are designed for operation at an altitude not exceeding 3300 feet (1000 meters) above, sea level. For higher altitudes derating of output kW may be necessary.
Mounting:
Motors are available in foot mounted and flange mounted designs confirming to IEC 72 (Dimensions only)/DIN 42673/ISI231 and IEC 72 (Dimensions only)/DIN 42677/IS 2223 standards respectively.
Construction
Frames and Endshields:
Stator frames and end shields are made from high grade cast iron for exceptional strength and corrosion resistance. They are accurately machined to close tolerance in order to ensure rigid alignment and minimum vibration.
Cooling system:
Cooling fins are cast integrally with Stator frame and endshields. High airflow external fans with stator frames of deep fins construction ensure adequate cooling of the motor. Ensuring extended motor life.
Fan and Fan Cowl:
Polypropylene fans are fitted for effective cooling. Fan cowls are of heavy gauge pressed steel, construction, securely bolted to the motor endshield.
Stator Assembly with Winding:
The integral system of wire, slot and phase insulation and the overall varnish impregnation provide superior winding rigidity capable of withstanding vibration limits.
Bearing:
Standard motors are fitted with high quality double side sealed, C3 Clearance ball/bearings with pre-packed lubricants.
Rotor Assembly:
The rotor core consists of annealed and insulated laminations with a pressure die-cast high conductivity aluminium cage. Integrally cast with the cage are wafter blades and balance weight supports. The whole assembly is dynamically balanced to ensure quiet and vibration free operation.
Terminal Box:
Terminal boxes are rotatable 4 x 90 degree increments. Permitting the cable entry from any direction.
The terminal box is well sealed and located at the right hand side of the frame. Earthing terminal is provided in all motors.
Hardware:
All hardware is electro zinc plated for better corrosion resistance.
Finish:
All inside exposed surfaces are cleaned and sprayed with a corrosion inhibiting coating. All components are mechanically or chemically cleaned prior to the application of a phenolic rust proof primer giving excellent corrosion protection. The assembled motor is finished in a super enamel grey lacquer.
Testing:
Each motor undergoes a full program of tests during manufacture and prior to despatch as per IEC 34-1 /DIN EN 60034-1/IS 325 standard.
