There are two tabletops of this type in the Ugoline collection in Florance, one circular and one rectangular. 19th century photographs of the products of that workshop include many examples similar to the Gilbert Collection piece. Another florentine workshop specializing in this type of table belonged to Piero Bazzanti, at Lungarno Corsini.
