Asbestos Yarn is made of white, clean Chrysotile fibers absolutely free from natural contamination like grit & rocky materials which have been mechanically twisted to increase their tensile strength. Full care is taken that only long, silky smooth & very flexible fibers go into the manufacturing of Asbestos Yarn. It is used for Impregnated Packings, Tubings, sewing, electrical braidings, resistance nets and cores. It has excellent resistance power at high temperature. Supreme as an insulating agent. Ready flexibility is an additional advantage. Asbestos yarn is available in three varieties - Non-metallic, Metallic & Twisted.
Non-Metalic Yarn
Conform to D.G.S. & D and IS standard specification.
Sizes: (Thickness) 1 mm, 1.5 mm 3.0 mm, 5.0 mm & 6.0 mm
Packings: 0.5 kg, 1.0 kg & 3.0 kg spools
Applications: Heat insulation of smaller diameter pipes, steam valves & water cocks, insulation of electric switches, cables & fuse gears and sealing joints in flexible metallic tubing & also in manufacturing of Clutch Facing, Brake Lining etc.
Metalic Yarn
The core of the yarn is reinforced with 36/38 gauge thick brass wires. The brass wire reinforcement provides greater heat & resistance & mechanically durable properties to the packing
Sizes: 1.5 mm, 3.0 mm, 5.0 mm & 6.0 mm
Packings: 0.5 kg, 1.0 kg & 3.0 kg spools
Applications: It is recommended where severe conditions in pressure, abrasion, vibration or shock exist.
Twisted Yarn
It is a compact variety of Non-Metallic Yarn, twisted to increase its strength.
Size (Thickness): 1.5 mm, 3.0 mm, 5.0 mm, 6.0 mm.
Packings: 0.5 kg, 1.0 kg, & 3.0 kg spools.
Applications: Used as packing in automobiles, covering around air-conditioning tubes, tying cords in electrical motors, insulation on glass handling tools etc. It is stronger than spun yarn and services higher temperature.
