Our formulated blackening chemicals are used in the process of blackening iron & steel by simple immersion. The process blackens a wide range of alloy steels and imparts moderate corrosion resistance to them. Coating with blackening chemicals withstands from 2 to 6 hours in 20% salt spray, which is sufficient for most indoor uses. For outdoor application, additional protection is provided by oiling, waxing or lacquering the work after blackening. The thickness of black oxide coating ranges from 0.06 to 0.12 micron.
The sequential steps of blackening process are as following:
Degreasing ( Digosa 30 )
Water Rinse ( Water )
De Rusting ( Detroit SC / VAM )
Neutralising ( Digosa 30 )
Water Rinse
Blackodising ( 120 - 1300C )
Blackodising ( 138 - 1420C )
Chromate Sealing ( Pasio-44 )
Drying / Sealing with cutting oil.
