A ship centrifugal pump manufacturer was noticing quality issues in prototype pumps they were designing.  All sub-assemblies appeared to be within tolerance, but their alignment was off when assembled. They decided to hire a Perceptron value added reseller to perform quality checks on a small sample of prototype pumps and investigate what was causing the problem.  As a result, the value added reseller concluded the parts were misaligned, overlapping in areas and some walls had non-uniform thickness.  They directed the manufacturer where to make adjustments and by how much.
