Fishing magnets developed by us are special purpose fishing tools that help in retrieving non -drillable magnetic objects dropped into well bore (Which cannot be retrieved by other fishing methods). Magnet fishing technique is possibly the simplest of fishing method and is a indispensable accessory for drilling/ work over operations. We can vary the magnetic pull within a limited range in same size of fishing magnet if requirements are clearly specified.

Circulation Ports:

Minimum circulation hole through any magnet is minimum 100% of circulation area through the drill string of same size as the end connection

Operation:

Depending on service requirements, fishing magnets may be used on drill pipe, tubing or wireline

Adaptors used for running magnet with wireline are sucker rod adaptors & rope sockets

After magnet is assembled with proper guide, run it in the hole (While using with "wireline,” circulation cannot be made)

While running on drill pipe, lower magnet approximately within one foot of fish

Start circulation

If tool looses weight while lowering, circulation needs to be continued (Slow reciprocation & circulation is necessary to ensure magnet is free from obstruction)

Engage rotary, apply couple of turns using 5 to 10 times weight of the tool (Not exceeding 10,000 Ibs without rotation & 5,000 Ibs with rotation)

Discontinue circulation & rotation

Lift tool about 10 feet from bottom

Check depth and weight

Slowly lower back to bottom

Check depth and weight

If weight & depths are showing no anomaly turn rotary 3 to 4 rounds

Proper use of weight & circulation is most critical factor in a successful fishing job but experience & judgment is probably last word in fishing jobs.
