Apart from this, it is also used as a synthetic fruit flavoring in various food items such as ice-cream, baked goods, cheeses and candy. Moreover, Butyl Acetate is also found in a large variety of fruits, where it lends a characteristic flavor to the fruit along with other chemicals. Apples, particularly, of the variety known as Red Delicious, are partly flavored by this chemical. Having a sweet smell of banana, Butyl Acetate is a flammable, colorless liquid.
