Double reduction unit consists of two totally enclosed pairs of worm gears mounted on antifriction bearings throughout , the worm wheel of the first reduction being secured to the second reduction worm shaft,thus increasing the range of ratios upto 4900/1.The units are available in three types:Underdriven type SUDM; Overdriven, type SODM:Vertical output,type SVDM.The input and output shafts are parallel,but not co-axial. For special applications the input and output shaft can be oriented at right angle.
