» Best Season : Mid July to SeptemberThis is one of strenous trek in zanskar. After spending a day in Delhi we fly to Kulu and drive to Manali, a charming Indian Hill station. After spending two days at Manali we go by bus over the Rohtang Pass into Lahoul valley. At darcha we meet Leh/ Manali road. Darcha is the last village in Lahour valley. From here we climb up steeply over the Shingola Pass (16,500 feet), which is always snow bound. We are now in the heart of the great Himalaya, amid hanging glaciers and unclimbed 6000 meters peaks. We reach Kargya, the first Buddhist village in Zanskar valley. We make side trip from Purnee to Phuktal Monastery. This monastery, one of the most impressive in Zanskar, has been carved right out of the mountain wall and set in a huge limestone cave. From here we will pass through some magnificent eroded landscapes, we walk mainly along the flat glaciated valleys. Our last of trek is to Padam, the capital of Zanskar. From here we drive to Kargil over the Pensi la Pass in two days. From the top of the Pass you get grand views of various glaciers including the massive Drungdrung glacier. The region is dominated by twin peaks of Mt. Nun (7135 mts) and Mt. Kun (7,087 mts). From Kargil we drive over to Leh to explore more monasteries in and around our Houseboats and may be do last minute shopping. From Srinagar we fly out to Delhi.Day 01 : Meet in Delhi
