Del desizing is an alpha amylase enzyme derived from a selected strain of bacillus. It promotes the rapid removal of starch sizes by breaking down the starch in to soluble dextrins. 

Del desizing can be used in textile mills to remove the starch sizes from grey fabric and in desizing of denim garments.

in denim processing desizing is a very important step to obtain a good finish. If the size is not removed rapidly,the irregular folding of denim might lead to formation of streaks that are undesirable. Whether it is an indigo denim washing or denim over-dyeing, a proper desizing leads to a development of superior result. It is possible to get a homogeneous streak free finish by using del desizing .

Methods of del desizing

Some methods employ strong oxidising agents such as ammonium per sulphate or hydrogen peroxide at high ph and temperature and certain other methods involve use of hot dilute hydrochloric acid treatment for removing size polymers. Although these methods given very quick desizing,it reduces the tensile strength. 

the enzymes are capable of breaking starch sizes completely,without affecting the cellulose fibre.
