Sample Extractors are used for preparing undisturbed specimens from larger samples to carry out strength tests. Large extrusion forces used indiscriminately will compress the soil resulting in false values of shear strength and consolidation. Following type of sample extractors are available.

MTS - 151 Hand Operated Sample Extractor for 38mm dia specimens:

For collecting undisturbed samples of 38mm dia from borrow pits or from larger size samplers for unconfined compression tests or triaxial shear test. The outfit comprises one each of the following:

Sample Extractor, screw type with a wire sample trimmer. Jarring Link, for driving the sampling tube of 38mm dia.

Adaptor with locking screw, for fitting the 38mm dia sampling tubes to jarring link

Split Mould, 38mm dia x 88mm long and 38mm dia x 76mm long with quick release clamps.

Sampling tube unrelieved, 38mm dia x 150mm long and 38mm dia x 200mm long.
