Artificial grass has been used and proved practical on finnish baseball fields for many years already.

Artificial grass is a player-friendly and standard surface, also in different weather conditions.

The maintenance costs are considerably lower than those of traditional hard sand courts.

 FIELD STRUCTURE

The use of a sleek and durable yarn is necessary, because the finnish baseball players wear track shoes and the game includes frequent lunges to the bases.

The correct pile height for a finnish baseball field is 33 mm, which gives a sufficiently hard surface and a maximum abrasion-resistance.

The grass is filled with sand so that only 3-5 mm of the pile is left visible.

The best yarn type for this purpose is fibrillated pile yarn, a so-called "web yarn", which has a strong and uniform structure. The top of the yarn opens when the field is brushed and the sand falls evenly to the root of the yarn, thus making the field firm enough for baseball games.
