com's multi column distillation plant designed based on finn-aqua which produces pyrogen-free sterile water for injection (wfi) which meets the requirement of ip/bp/usp specifications. The plant manufactured as per current good manufacturing practices (cgmp) and asme requirements. It works on the principle of multiple effect distillation method with the help of specially designed shell & tube heat-exchangers (columns). The vapors with high velocity and under pressure passes over a specially designed spiral baffle which develops tremendous centrifugal force and thus eliminates any chances of pyrogens carry over in the vapors. The columns, heat-exchanger, feed pumps, valves & instruments, control panel will be mounted on ss tubular structure.

operation:

the feed water (through condenser) gets heated though pre-heater of columns is fed into the first column where 33% of feed water is converted into steam under pressure by outside boiler steam the pure steam produced in the first column having temperature of 135°c and the remaining feed water goes to the 2nd column. The pure steam is used as a heating media in the 2nd column and converts part of remaining feed water into steam. In the process, the steam itself condenses back into water. This process is repeated till the last columns each working at low temperature & pressure as compared to the one before it. The steam produced in the last column is condensed in the condenser by feed water as well as cooling water. As external heat is required only to convert the 33% of feed water, the heating energy required is reduced by 67%.

safety features:

the unit is completely made-up of ss316l with active surfaces being electro-polished to <0. 5ra. Compact in design, easy to maintain and operate. + all the piping joints are sanitary tr-clover fitting and the same will be provided with pharmaceutical grade silicon, joints are provided with orbital welding. + special design to 1st column as it comes in direct contact with boiler steam. + total energy saving is 75% as less heating energy and less cooling water is required. • low maintenance cost involved as there are no moving parts. + trouble free performance of multi-stage pump (horizontal). + distillate temperature is quite high (— 90 to 95°c). + all contact parts are made out of ss316 material and non-contact parts are made out of 5s304 material. + distillate water quality as per ip/bp/usp specifications and conductivity <1. 0ps/cm. + all the connections are sanitary tr-clover ended for easy fitting.

control panel:

panel board is fabricated from ss304 sheet. The same can be provided as electrical relay based or plc based operation. + panel board consists of relays, motor starter, indicating lamp, ammeter / voltmeter for motors, push buttons, temperature indicator cum controller, etc • in case of insufficient compressed air supply, pressure switch contained in the panel will prevent the machine from starting. • in case of insufficient boiler steam supply, pressure switch contained in the panel will prevent the machine from starting. + air operated flow diverter valve provided to prevent inadequate quality of wfi to enter into storage tank. .
