They are nitrogen fixers. They also live freely in the soil and do not form any association with the plants. It produces plant growth promoting substances such as B-Vitamins, Indole Acetic Acid (IAA) and Gibberlins. It has fungistatic properties on certain pathogenic species such as Alternaria, Fusarium.  It also increases the germination of seeds. Seeds having less germinating percent if inoculated can increase germination by 20-30%.

Azotobacter Biofertilizers is recommended for the Cereals, Mulberry, Cotton, Sugarcane, Vegetable crops, Fruit Crops, and Forest Trees, Sunflower, Sesamum, Safflower and Tobacco etc.
