The covers of the 'book' are made from strips of giant bamboo (Dendrocalamusgiganteus) pasted together. The spine is made from mats woven with reeds (Ochlandratravancorica). They are joined using jute fabric. The inner frame is made ofwood and the partitions are made of bamboo. The number of partitions canbe changed and can even be taken out to produce a single larger box.
