The ISO 9001:2008 Certification specifies the requirements for a quality management in organizations. All its requirements are generic and can be applied to all most organizations irrespective of their type, size and sector. Compliance to ISO 9001:2008 Certification demonstrates that the organization is capable of consistently provide products that meets customer and statutory and regulatory requirements

In cases where any of the requirements are not met due to the nature of the business or product, this can be considered for exclusion. Wherever such exclusions are made, claims of conformity to ISO 9001:2008 are not acceptable unless these exclusions are limited to requirements as mentioned in clause 7. Such exclusions should not affect the organization’s ability to provide products that meet customer and regulatory requirements.
