We manufacture internal gears from brass, and design them such that the centre distance of given velocity is short. In internal gears, the teeth run parallel to the axis, point inwards and are used along with pinion. They are designed such that the teeth carry the load and can counter slippages effectively. In parallel shafts that rotate in same direction, these internal gears channel rotary motion, and the non-binding designing of the teeth results in limited friction and quiet & noiseless flow of work. They allow high stress loading and low sliding movement, and are used in planetary gears to produce large reduction ratio. Their main application is in light duty work, such as indexing, timing, in rollers etc. and can also be used to make solid models of drive components. The only thing to be checked while installation is that the teeth of girth gear and pinion gear should not be less than 15.
