Artists Circle operational since 2003, under the Artists Welfare Trust is not a mere gallery for selling drawings and paintings for lucre, rather it is an organization that inspires artists of different streams, poets, scholars, and cultural activists to come together in an ever widening creative circle, and rise to the crescendo in the perspective of the contemporaneous reality.
This organization relentlessly brought about multifarious exhibitions, workshops, seminars and cultural events under the guidance of Mrs. Krishna Bhattacharya–Medical scientist by profession, along with her team of advisory members comprising of poets, painters, writers, performers, film directors all of whom have contributed in building up this unique platform.
Its location on the ground floor of an ancient villa- at 46, Circus Avenue, in the heart of the historical city of Kolkata, a meeting point of seven important connectors, makes it even more important today, since the place thrive with art and artists.
The Artists Welfare trust is exempted from tax under section 80 G of income tax act.
