disk on module (DOM) is a flash drive with either 40/44 pins IDE/Parallel ATA, USB, or SATA Interface to be used as a computer hard disk drive (HDD). The flash-to-IDE converter simulates a harddisk, and therefore the modules can be used without additional software or drivers. They are used particularly within embedded computing systems where they can often be deployed into very harsh environments (where mechanical hard disk drives would simply fail), or in a thin client because of small size, low power consumption and silent operation.
A diode is the simplest sort of semiconductor device. Broadly speaking, a semiconductor is a material with a varying ability to conduct electrical current. Most semiconductors are made of a poor conductor that has had impurities (atoms of another material) added to it. The process of adding impurities is called doping. SCALE Driver cores are PCB based electrical circuitry equipped with all the basic functions of a driver such as galvanic isolation, protective functions, DC/DC converters etc.
They are mounted on a circuit board containing all the additional components required to match the driver to specific IGBTs or applications, such as an input interface, gate resistors, active clamping etc. Driver cores for IGBTs are available with reverse voltages from 600V to 3300V and driving power from 1W to 20W per channel. They are also suited for driving power MOSFETs operating at switching frequencies up to 500 KHz.
SCALE Plug-and-play drivers are complete ready-to-use IGBT drivers that have been perfectly matched by CONCEPT to a large selection of IGBTs. They are available for high-power and high-voltage IGBT modules with reverse voltages from 1200V to 6500V. All plug-and-play drivers are complete solutions and are equipped with DC/DC converters (external for 4.5-6.5 kV), short-circuit protection, active clamping, supply monitoring etc. Users need only mount them onto the corresponding IGBT module the system can then be put into immediate operation with no further development or matching effort. Most CONCEPT drivers are equipped with integrated DC/DC converters. As a complement to the drivers, which contain no electrically isolated power supplies, CONCEPT offers a series of DC/DC converters developed specifically for supplying IGBT drivers. In electronics and electrical engineering, a fuse (from the French fuser, Italian fuso, "spindle"[1]) is a type of low resistance resistor that acts as a sacrificial device to provide overcurrent protection, of either the load or source circuit. Its essential component is a metal wire or strip that melts when too much current flows through it, interrupting the circuit that it connects. Short circuits, overloading, mismatched loads, or device failure are the prime reasons for excessive current. Fuses are an alternative to circuit breakers. A heliocentric orbit (also called circumsolar orbit) is an orbit around the barycenter of the Solar System, which is usually located within or very near the surface of the Sun. All planets, comets, and asteroids in our Solar System are in such orbits, as are many artificial probes and pieces of debris. The moons of planets in the Solar System, by contrast, are not in heliocentric orbits as they orbit their respective planet.
Passivity is a property of engineering systems, used in a variety of engineering disciplines, but most commonly found in analog electronics and control systems. A passive component, depending on field, may be either a component that consumes (but does not produce) energy (thermodynamic passivity), or a component that is incapable of power gain (incremental passivity).
A component that is not passive is called an active component. An electronic circuit consisting entirely of passive components is called a passive circuit (and has the same properties as a passive component). Used out-of-context and without a qualifier, the term passive is ambiguous. Typically, analog designers use this term to refer to incrementally passive components and systems, while control systems engineers will use this to refer to thermodynamically passive ones.
